Before starting a solo practice, I practiced at Hovey Williams, LLP preparing and prosecuting patent and copyright applications as well as providing support for patent litigation.

I graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2008 where I participated in the Giles Rich Moot Court Competition, was a member of the Law School Technology Committee, and represented clients in criminal matters for the Douglas County Legal Aid Society.

Before attending law school, I practiced for nearly ten years as a professional software engineer by leading development teams; writing, testing, and debugging software code; consulting with clients; and assisting with development of electronic hardware. During that time, I started a consulting company and a software company.

I graduated from the University of Illinois School of Engineering with a BS in Computer Science in 1997. There, I was a member and treasurer of the student chapter of ACM SigGraph.
